The idea for our Aspen Signature Collection came from our owner, Martin Faith. Martin was inspired to create this series shortly after he moved to Colorado from his home in Glasgow, Scotland.
Stained glass windows are used in abundance in Glasgow’s architecture and are an indispensable part of the city’s culture. Growing up in Glasgow, Martin was always surrounded by beautiful stained glass. At a young age, he learned the essential techniques required to make stained glass. He spent years studying and perfecting his trade, working with passion and precision to produce the world’s most beautiful stained glass.
In 1991, Martin and his wife bought a home in Colorado and moved across the world. Once they were settled, Martin set up a glassmaking studio in his garage. Here, he continued practicing his trade and spent countless hours using the techniques he learned in Scotland to grow his new business. During this time, he also began exploring his new home and began venturing into the mountains for hiking and adventures.
Martin was captivated by the beautiful scenery he discovered during his mountain adventures. The lush, green landscape reminded him of his home in Glasgow. Yet, at the same time, it was different and exciting. As a tribute to Colorado’s beauty, he developed a series of windows with designs featuring one of the state’s most populous and charming tree species, the Aspen.
Today, our Aspen stained glass windows are beloved by nature lovers everywhere. They are simple, but striking and are made elegant by their abundant use of curved lines and varying textures.
